Summary of places visited -
- Yodobashi Kyoto
- Higashi Honganji
- Nishi Honganji
For lazy people: skip to the pictures.
It felt like a long walk from Higashi Honganji to Nishi Honganji, I was wondering how I'm gonna walk to places the next few days.
First up was crossing over to the hotel from the station.
Good thing the hotel I'll be staying at is just across the station, next to Kyoto Tower. Feels like K-ON/Seitokai Yakuindomo.
After dropping off the luggages at the hotel, it was time for some lunch. Back to station building to find some food.
Above shot is from the front of Kyoto Station Building. You can see the hotel at the bottom left .
After getting some food, which comprised of Onigiri and some water, it was time to check out places nearby. First up, Yodobashi Kyoto.
Yodobashi Kyoto was great. Awesome selection of camera equipment, you can test the lenses there unsupervised. There's a lot of headphones for testing too, from low end to high end ones, I probably spent the most time here testing headphones. Conclusion from headphones testing: open-back headphones sounds great. Yodobashi Camera is a fabulous place for camera and audio people.
After Yodobashi, is AVANTI. I needed to get the April issue of COMIC Earth Star before it gets sold out. Avanti's Animate had 3 in stock so I got one, should've gotten 2.
Its time for some historical places, and Nishi and Higashi Honganji are “within” walking distance from the hotel.
Looking back, Karasuma shichijo.
The sun was strong that day, and the following days as well.
Parts of Higashi Honganji was undergoing restoration/renovation.
The inside was great. Nice, huge and quiet.
The grass is not only greener on the other side, there're flowers too.
Its nice and windy outside, temperature was great too.
Singapore may be green and stuff, but compared to Kyoto, SG's not even close to being a ‘garden city'.
And off to Nishi Honganji. I accidentally walked the long way, but hey, discovered the tons of vending machines with awesome drinks.
Some panoramas. Open the images in a new Tab/Window.
After Nishi Honganji is the long walk back to the hotel/Yodobashi for lunch.
Lunch was Mcdonalds which was located next to Yodobashi Kyoto.
The day's loot to wrap things up.
