I think it's about time to call this one in! Afterall, her kit wasn't exactly the most complicated thing I've seen (clocking in at a mere 8 parts for the whole thing) so once painting started, it was pretty smooth sailing, tho I have to say that the Games Workshop liquid green stuff was a godsend for filling in some of the pinholes and liquid putty is hard to come by here for some reason!
Anyway, here's my latest finished work, Kumashiro Maya from Sekimatsu Occult Gakuen (remember that show?)
Can't remember what it was which attracted me to this kit way back when, but I'm sure it was something to do with the simplicity of it all.
Of course, that simplicity makes it a little tough to talk about the process as there's not really much to talk about!
The parts were kinda rough tho. Especially around the shoulders so those needed to be touched up and there was a bit of a fitting problem with the left arm. Otherwise, it was all very smooth.
I'm still undecided about the skintone though. Looks a bit too pale for my liking. It got a passing grade when used on Taiga but it didn't sit so well on me this time around. Perhaps with my next kit, I'll put the light skintone on first and then add darker tones as opposed to the other way around like I did here.
Not too sure about the eyes either. I've revised my eye painting technique a little and Taiga and Maya are the first recipients. Overall, they look fine but I keep wondering if I gave them a bit too much of a piercing gaze. If so, I'll need to think of a way to soften them.
Yeah, way too white… Well, it's not like it's bad. Just not to my tastes so I'll darken things up next time. Might be good for Selvaria though…
Now, time to think on which kit I should do next. In all honesty, I really should pick up Noel again, but my solitary Dead Master kit is calling as is Fate. Nanoha needs some company!
And for those curious, I believe that the Mecha anime OPs video I have been working on has been completed. I just need to figure out the best way to distribute it. Uploading is a long shot anyway, as the video is a little over 2GB long now!
