Maou-san continues his search for an alternative source of power to replenish his demonic powers. For obvious reasons, he can't use the negative emotions of people this time. Lucifer, who as of now lives as a shut-in in Maou-san's house, offers up some intel regarding to the location of said source of power. Turns out, the source of power he was referring to is an abandoned classroom. At one point in time, the Gate may have been used there. With Chiho as the guide, (her school after all) Maou-san and Ashiya decides to investigate it.
As per usual Emilia the Stalker butts in on the fun. She can be annoying and she certainly is here but to me she doesn't really impact the group dynamics between the characters that much. Just a minor gripe. Nevertheless, the fivesome discovers the whereabouts of the “forbidden classroom”. Ashiya points out that the classroom isn't as abandoned as the rumors say. The various leftovers of potato chips and a handheld console further solidifies his theory. Lucifer calls at this point to ask of Maou-san to bring back the handheld console.
So… Maou-san's quest to replenish his powers turned into a fetch quest for Lucifer handheld console. How anti-climatic. That said, Hataraku Maou-sama leaves us with a cliffhanger regarding a mysterious girl in a yukata on the doorstep of Maou-san's home.
As some people had pointed out, Lucifer did become a shut-in. More of a necessity to evade the police rather than against his own volition. Although, I have a feeling that he was already one before he met Maou-san in this world, when he spent his time in the Human World with Orba.
I'd like to note that Maou-san definitely had acted quite indifferently against Chiho's affection for him. Either it is due to his demonic nature of not understand human interactions or the usual romantic comedy misunderstandings, I do feel bad for Chiho. All I can say is do your best Chiho-san!!!
