For today, we have a very new song from Hachi, one of the legendary producers.

Hachi is one of the few extremely famous composers in NND. He retired from doing vocaloid songs to focus on his band few years back. I have no idea if this song marks his return to vocaloid or is just a one-off thing. Hachi’s songs are extremely unique in that they’re generally quite dark and does not conform to a style. Here is his mylist if you’re interested in his songs. His most notable songs are Matryoshka, Musunde Hiraite Rasetsu to Mukuro and Rinne.

This is an upbeat song, much in the same vein as Matryoshka. The vocals for this song sometimes sounds pretty “jarring” compared to the melody. I’m guessing that it may be due to the choice of key or chords used in this song (I don’t study music what do I know), but it creates a very nice effect on the song and made it extremely addictive. The relatively quiet verse just before the last chorus is the most amazing part of the whole song in my opinion. The rapid drumming just feels so good.

Lyrics are your everyday metaphorical Hachi lyrics. You can read the English translation here.

Before we get to my recommended covers of this song, just a small note. This song is extremely melody heavy, which means the the vocals will, most of the time, be overpowered by the melody. Also, due to this, the worst cover will probably sound almost decent. With that said, here are my recommended covers:

Soraru covered this with his normal voice and it sounds pretty nice.

Mafumafu, on the other hand, went the opposite direction and covered this with a lower voice. Also sounds really nice.

And so we come to Akatin’s cover. Akatin’s pitch hits that nice middle ground between the previous two covers.

Then we have the irregular that is Kouhey. He covered this in his awesome high-pitch-high-tension voice. Highly recommended.

For her cover, Sana uses a rather high-pitched voice but not so high that it grates. It’s pretty much the perfect balance between her cute and pretty voice.

Enjoy!

P.S. I noticed that the sound quality for the YouTube reprints are lower than the original in NND. If you want to listen to these covers I linked on much higher quality you might want to create an NND account if you don’t have one already. Registration should be very easy now that there is an English language option for the site.
